Xbox is in a strange place right now. Amid a mess of cancelled projects and mass layoffs, it is difficult to know exactly what the future might hold for the console giant. Throughout many points in its history, though, it was on top of the world. The first round of hardware never truly set the world on fire, but the popularity of Halo and plenty of Microsoft capital were enough to spearhead a second attempt.
