Kaizer Chiefs fell to a 2-1 defeat against Elche CF on Saturday evening in their third pre-season friendly in Spain. The result ended Amakhosi’s unbeaten start to the tour after back-to-back 1-1 draws against Rangers FC and Al-Kholood.
Despite the defeat, Asanele Velebayi continued his fine form in front of goal. The winger scored his second goal in as many matches to give head coach Fernando Da Cruz another encouraging attacking display ahead of the new Betway Premiership season.
