The Tories have been celebrating winning their first Scottish by-election for more than 50 years.
In Aberdeen South, Conservative Douglas Lumsden picked up just short of 50 per cent of the votes – well ahead of the SNP’s Richard Thomson on 28.6 per cent. Reform was a distant third.
This represented a big swing from the last general election from the SNP to the Conservatives.
