Even growing up, religiously rereading my collections of The Far Side, I still did not get some of the humor because it was 'dated.' I also benefited from grandparents and parents who embraced many old adages and sayings for amusement; I myself still carry this passion for antiquated sayings. Now, a couple of decades on, I am more aware of how many of Larson's comics are products of their time, and when we consider the future under our AI overlords, where everything is provided by the government
