The upcoming release of The Mandalorian and Grogu on Disney+ will mark a major first for streaming services in general. The Mandalorian and Grogu was already unique among Star Wars films. It was the franchise's first film in seven years since The Rise of Skywalker, one of only three spinoff films alongside Rogue One and Solo, and, most importantly, the first film to primarily feature characters first introduced in a Star Wars television show.
