The SNP secured its fifth win in a row with 58 seats – but not enough for a majority. Scotland’s First Minister John Swinney called it a vote for a ‘pro-independence parliament’.
And after a dark day for Scottish Labour – Anas Sarwar came a distant second – tying with Reform UK, who have made a breakthrough north of the border.
