The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued multiple severe weather warnings across the country, with disruptive rainfall, flooding, and dangerous conditions expected between 5 and 7 May 2026.
Warnings ranging from Level 2 to Level 8 are in effect, with the most severe conditions forecast for the Western Cape, Eastern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal.
Disaster response teams in these regions have been placed on high alert.
