In the December box office showdown between Avengers: Doomsday and Dune: Part Three, Denis Villeneuve's sci-fi epic has one major advantage: it has secured an exclusive three-week window across all IMAX formats. Avengers: Doomsday will have to face off without the most in-demand premium format, with the ticket prices for this format helping make up a substantial portion of a movie's total box-office haul. Doomsday's follow-up, on the other hand, won't have that same problem in 2027.
