Named for the coastal Languedoc town in which it was bred, Marselan is a grape variety born in 1961 as a cross between Cabernet Sauvignon and Grenache. As is not always the case with the offspring of intentional grape crossings (see: Pinotage, Müller-Thurgau, etc.), Marselan actually exhibits the best qualities of both of its parents.
