A local committee is looking for council’s support to have a smaller replica of the Vimy Memorial constructed at the Department of National Defence (DND) grounds.
Located near Vimy, France, The Vimy Memorial is Canada’s most important overseas war memorial, according to the committee led by local realtor Martin von Holst who, in addition to this request, is responsible for getting Feb. 1 recognized as RCMP Appreciation Day over the last several years.
