UN says Hormuz disruption risks global food crisis






Jorge Moreira da Silva of the United Nations Office for Project Services warned that continued disruption linked to the war with Iran could push around 45 million more people into hunger worldwide.

He told Al Jazeera in an interview that the blockage of fertiliser shipments through the Strait of Hormuz is a key driver of the risk.

Last week, Silva had said global agriculture depends heavily on fertilis
