Israel backs diplomacy with Lebanon but warns on Hezbollah
Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations, Danny Danon, said he supports diplomatic efforts and direct negotiations with Lebanon, while stressing that Israel will continue to respond to threats from Hezbollah.
Danon said Hezbollah continues to fire rockets and destabilise the region, adding that Israel “has to retaliate” when it identifies threats.
