Torrential rains that struck eastern Yucatán on the afternoon of Thursday, April 23, caused widespread property damage, particularly in the Tizimin-Colonia Yucatán area. Power poles and several trees were downed, disrupting traffic and electricity service in some areas.



According to preliminary reports, the strong gusts of wind and intense rain caught residents by surprise, causing lightweight structures and vegetation to succumb to the weather conditions.
