For years, the critique of Apple hardware was as predictable as the product launches. We all knew the script and have been just as guilty of it. Apple would unveil a new iPhone that looked similar enough to the last one, tout a chip that was significantly faster than the competition, and rely on its massive ecosystem to do the heavy lifting. While the best Android OEMs were busy experimenting with folding screens, periscope zooms, and 100W charging, Apple felt content to sit in its “boring” era.
