The Honolulu Zoo has fully rebounded from an organizational low 10 years ago, when the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) denied it accreditation. Now stable (thanks to dedicated funding, approved by voters in 2016), the zoo won back accreditation in 2020, and this year hit AZA’s highest marks, earning a four-year extension.
