Capitec is rapidly expanding its Smart ID services, with the bank now offering the service at 86 branches nationwide as part of its partnership with the Department of Home Affairs.
The rollout, which began in early March 2026, is already gaining momentum.
According to the bank, more than 71 000 Smart ID applications have been processed through its branches in just a few weeks.
