After nearly seven weeks of spiralling oil prices, stalling diplomacy, and near-daily threats from President Trump, Iran says it has reopened the Strait of Hormuz to commercial ships.
The announcement came hours after a ten-day ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon began, with Iran indicating that the shipping lane would remain open for the duration of that time.
Donald Trump thanked Iran but said the US blockade of Iranian ports will continue until a full peace deal is agreed.
