EU says WhatsApp AI terms update fails to resolve antitrust concerns

BRUSSELS — The European Commission said Wednesday that Meta’s recent attempt to charge fees for rival AI assistants on WhatsApp does not address its antitrust concerns.



Meta has been under investigation in the EU ever since it changed its access terms last October for alternative AI service providers, sparking concern from competitors that they could lose access to WhatsApp.
