White flowers of the Asian skunk cabbage, or mizubasho, hit peak bloom in the Makunbetsu marsh in Ishikari, Hokkaido. The wetland, which lies at the mouth of the Ishikari River, is well known for its clusters of mizubasho. Tourists holding cameras and smartphones were seen traversing a boardwalk through the flowers and taking photos.
