Hyatt Regency Kyoto, which some locals still know as the Park Hotel, will close on May 9, 2027, as the building is demolished, according to an article published in the local media.

The hotel became part of the Hyatt chain back in 2006. Hyatt’s management contract is likely coming to an end (these are usually 20 to 30 years), and the building’s owner, Orix, has decided it is easier to just blow it up and build something new.
You can access Hyatt’s page for the Hyatt Regency here.
