Man attacked by grizzly bear while walking dogs in rural Vanderhoof

A Vanderhoof man was taken to hospital after suffering non-life-threatening injuries to his leg following a grizzly bear attack.
According to the B.C. Conservation Office, the man was walking his two off-leash dogs on his farm property at about 5 p.m., April 13, when he was attacked.
“He was able to scramble under a barbed wire fence, and the bear disengaged and ran off,” stated the Conservation Office.
