Canadian Rangers have been deployed in Gjoa Haven by the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) in response to a state of emergency being declared by the hamlet, Public Safety Canada announced on April 11.
Rangers arrived in the community on that day and will stay until at least April 16, according to Nunavut Emergency Management.
That could get extended depending on how serious conditions are in the community.
