Hungary election: Record high turnout with Orbán on verge of defeat

In Hungary, the polls closed on Sunday afternoon, and people have turned out in record numbers to vote in an election that could see the end of Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s 16-year hold on power.
Orbán, a staunch nationalist, has long been a thorn in the European Union’s side, while being supported by the populist right, including Donald Trump.
He has trailed behind in the polls behind opposition leader Péter Magyar, who has promised to crack down on corruption and extend a hand to Europe
