South Africans love loyalty programmes, and many shoppers carry several loyalty cards at once.
The latest findings from the ROOTS 8.1 consumer research survey show that food and grocery loyalty programmes dominate, with the Shoprite Xtra Savings card ranked as the most valuable overall.
The survey examined the use and perceived value of 23 loyalty cards across six sectors, including groceries, finance, clothing, pharmacies and fuel retailers.
