A whopping majority of Australians back the federal government's temporary cut to the fuel excise on petrol and diesel, new research has found.In response to ballooning prices triggered by the Iran war, the rate of excise on petrol and diesel was slashed from 52.6 cents per litre to 26.3 cents for a period of three months from last Wednesday.A Roy Morgan survey of 2514 people aged over 18 held in the lead-up to the government's announcement found 83 per cent backed the move.LIVE UPDA
